At the age of 4 Ben was singing and playing guitar in church. As a child he experienced the call into music ministry at the age of 8. Ben recalls, "My parents took me to a Cathedral Quartet concert in Muncie, IN in 1984 and I was hooked. I remember God speaking to me that night and impressing on me that my future would be in music and ministry." Since that time music has been the main focus of his life. While in high school in Bristow, OK Ben started a group called Arioso with a few of his friends and youngest brother. After high school ben joined a group while in college called Rick Shelton & The Way.  Ben traveled with The Way for 4 years.  During that time the group saw much success in ministry as well as having songs chart in Gospel music.

After college, Ben became a worship pastor for a few short years before returning to the road full time. In 2001 he stepped out into full time ministry traveling the country with his wife Katie. In 2003 he started a trio called Inheritance that traveled for 5 years. Over 300 souls were saved during this time. Inheritance also received many accomplishments through their time on the road.

In 2008 Inheritance became "Jackson & Scroggs" when their tenor singer came off the road to Pastor a church. Jackson and Scroggs recieved 2 nominations in 2008 for "Duet of The Year" in Southern Gospel music and "Duo of The Year" in Christian Country Music. Their song "No Back Roads" went to #2 on the Christian Country Charts in October of 2008. Ben & Dustin Jackson still continue to do select dates together.

However, Dustin and his son Branden continue to travel full time in ministry under the name "Almost Home." At the beginning of 2009 Ben received the opportunity to minister as an Associate Pastor in his home church on a part time basis.  This allowed him to stay close to home with his wife and 2 young boys. Ben states, " I'm enjoying being with my family more and watching my boys grow up.  I even get to coach Jadon's Tee Ball team this summer!"

Ben continues to sing and preach throughout the year and continues writing songs. In the last few years he has seen many artist record his music. Ben has had 3 songs in the Southern Gospel top 80 charts with one reaching #31.  He also penned the song "No Back Roads" that reached #2 in the Christian Country Music Charts in October of 2008.
